Communications

For all emergencies, please dial 000.

Illawarra Aged Care GPs use phone, fax, web enquiry, email, clinical software and secure messaging to send and receive information. All information received is reviewed by the treating GP the same or next business day.

We endeavour to reply to all phone messages, faxes and emails within 2 business days of receiving them.

General enquiries regarding medical care of aged care residents should be communicated to the registered nurse on duty at the aged care facility. These will then be communicated to the GP by nursing staff.

Web enquiriescontact us to submit a web enquiry. Your enquiry will be forwarded to IACGPs admin and/or the relevant GP.

Email enquiries – Please do not use email to contact the practice in an emergency. In some cases it may be necessary to liaise with the GP directly by email. There are possible risks to patient privacy if standard unencrypted email is used. Content within an email should be limited in scope, and only with patient consent. The GPs direct email may be requested from the manager at the aged care facility or by submitting a web enquiry. All email correspondence is recorded in the patient record.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ continuing connection – both physical and spiritual – to land, sea and sky.
